Provides small grants for neighbourhood projects aimed at improving the community.
The following grants are offered:
- Neighborhood Small Grants (NSGs): NSGs can help bring visions of neighborhood projects come to life. Grants of up to $500 are awarded to projects which engage the community and draw people out of isolation into connection in ways that enrich themselves and their region. During two cycles in spring and fall, volunteers from the community review proposals and decide on grants, with the principle of working with applicants to create an eligible, engaging project they can approve.
- Youth NSGs: A grant for youth ages of 12 to 24 to lead an initiative in the community. Grants of up to $500 are awarded to projects which engage the community, drawing people of all ages from isolation into connection, in ways which enrich both themselves and the places where they live. During two cycles in spring and fall, youth volunteers from the community review proposals and decide on grants, with the principle of working with applicants to create an eligible, engaging project they can approve. Open to all youth (ages 12-24) living in South Surrey, White Rock and Cloverdale.
