Services for Children/Youth Experiencing Abuse

Provided by Northern Society for Domestic Peace

Various programs offered to children and youth who are have witnessed or experienced violence.
The following services are provided:
  • Child Support: Child advocacy and support is available at Passage Transition House Passage Transition House also offers 24 hour per day crisis intervention, safety planning, support and referrals for children.
  • Specialized Victim Assistance: Confidential support for children and youth who are victims of sexual assault, domestic violence or criminal harassment, and who may or may not be involved in the criminal justice system as victims or witnesses is available.
  • Youth Forensics: Provides court ordered and court related assessment and treatment services for troubled youth. This includes general mental health services as well as specialized outpatient treatment for youth with a history of sexual and violent offenses.
  • Sexual Abuse Intervention Program: SAIP is a specialized, client centred counselling program for children and youth aged 3-18. This program is for children/youth/families that have been directly or indirectly affected by sexual abuse, as well as those children/youth who display sexualized behaviours that may put them at risk.
  • Children and Youth PEACE Program (Previously CWWA): This program provides support counselling for children and youth aged 4-18 who have been exposed to or who have experienced domestic violence and/or serious family conflict.
