Advocacy, Food, Housing / Shelter, Pregnancy Care, and Victim Services
Provided by Northern Society for Domestic Peace
- Stopping the Violence Outreach Program: STV Outreach offers emotional and practical support to women who are in or leaving abusive relationships. This work is often done out in the community and includes advocacy, referrals, cultural support, healthy activities etc.
- Stopping The Violence Program: STV is for women who are experiencing or have experienced violence in their lives. Our counsellors focus on supporting and empowering women to develop safe and healthy intimate relationships, taking personal responsibility for their behaviour and building effective coping strategies and problem solving skills. Counselling services are available by appointment. Crisis intervention is possible and is arranged as soon as there is a counsellor available.
- Passage Transition House 24 hour Emergency Shelter: Passage House offers a safe and supportive emergency residential and drop-in service in the Bulkley Valley for women and children experiencing domestic violence, abuse, and/or crises in their lives.
- Pregnancy Outreach: Pregnancy Outreach provides education and support to women, families, adoptive and foster parents during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum up to one year. Our team includes support workers, a nutritionist, and a Registered Nurse. We assist with a wide range of topics, including physical and emotional health, birth, breastfeeding, nutrition, fetal and infant development, baby care, self-care, and healthy relationships.
