offers culturally-enriching education and employment programs that empower students, adults, parents and families.
Programs include:
  • Scholarships and Incentives: Provides select educational scholarships and incentives for members pursuing post-secondary studies. These financial awards support academic success and are granted annually based on funding availability and eligibility.
  • Income Tax Clinic: The Health Department hosts a free Income Tax Clinic during March and April for staff, community members and local residents.
  • Drivers’ Education: The Seabird Island driver’s education program offers step-by-step guidance to help learners acquire their “L” license, practice essential driving skills, and prepare for the “N” road test. Open to all community members, the program includes 60-minute lessons with at least 45 minutes of behind-the-wheel practice from expert instructors. Learners can progress at their own pace and use program vehicles for road tests, gaining the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become licensed, safe drivers.   • Employment Services: Seabird Island’s Employment and Training Centre offers culturally-sensitive support for First Nations people, providing employment counselling, skills training, life skills development, and career exploration. Services include resume building, interview training, job search assistance, work placements, and youth pre-employment programs. The holistic approach empowers individuals to pursue meaningful careers and achieve their goals. Contact the centre to start your journey toward success.
