Family Parenting Place - Agassiz-Harrison

Family Parenting Place (FPP) invites families with children aged 0-6 to a range of fun, enriching, educational activities.
The goals and objectives of FPP are:
  • To coordinate programs for young children that meet community needs.
  • To advocate for, develop and provide a comprehensive range of social, educational, preventative and health programs that enhance and enrich the well-being of children aged 0-6.
  • To promote the health and development of families, thereby enriching our communities.
  • To teach nutritional skills including baking, cooking on a budget, canning and preparing baby food.

Programs consist of:
1) Drop-in Playtime - Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 8:45am-12:15pm (2:30pm on Friday): An indoor/outdoor play-based program for caregivers with children 0-6 years. Come and join us for age-appropriate toys, activities, crafts, snacks, stories and fun. Snacks are served at 10:00am Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays, and lunch is served on Friday’s at 11:30am.

2) It Takes a Village Family Dinner - Mondays at 5:00pm-6:30pm: On Monday evenings families come together to share a meal, play, and grow a community of support. If a family has a child who is aged 0-6 the whole family is welcome to attend, eat and play together. Pre-registration is required.

3) Better Beginnings -Tuesday at 10:00am-1:00pm: Weekly group giving education and information to women during pregnancy and the first six months after giving birth. Operates on Tuesday from 10:00 am- 1:00 pm. Preregistration required.

4) Triple P Parenting (Positive Parenting Program): The Positive Parenting Program is for parents of children aged 0-6 who are looking to grow their parenting skills. An accredited facilitator leads a discussion on topics identified by the participants. Topics are of a practical nature addressing typical parenting concerns. Childcare and snacks are provided.
