Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS) - Agassiz/Harrison Hot Springs

TAPS provides seniors with 3 days a week of recreational, social and cultural activities with lunches.
TAPS brings together older adults, specifically those facing adverse challenges, for tailored group activities that engage the body, mind, and spirit. The goal of the program is to foster independence, elevate quality of life, and promote overall well-being.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Must reside within the District of Kent/Village of Harrison Hot Springs
  • Must be capable of managing personal care independently and participate in group activities
  • Priority is given to those that can attend 3 days per week
  • Participants must have at least two of the following criteria: low to modest income, risk of social isolation and loneliness, low to moderate frailty, being a member of an underserved group.


Program Details:
  • TAPS runs year-round, each Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday for 4-5 hours each day
  • TAPS is not a drop-in program; it is designed as a day program for registered participants
  • TAPS meets at the Community Recreation & Cultural Centre, and Friendship House
  • Transportation can be arranged if needed
  • Caregiver support is included as part of the program

  • Sharing stories and building connections
  • Craft projects, games, and educational workshops
  • Low-impact exercise
  • Nutritious group lunches
  • Outings to local attractions and events
