Drive 4U and Shopping Shuttle - Volunteer Drivers

The Drive4U program and Shopping Shuttle provides transportation for community members.
The Drive4U program provides transportation for residents of all ages. Trips for medical appointments are the priority, but trips can be provided for shopping and social events when drivers are available. Community members must be registered with the program and meet the eligibility guidelines to receive service.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must live within the boundaries of the District of Kent and Village of Harrison Hot Springs.
  • Must be able to provide appointment information (address, date, and time).
  • Must be able to transfer in and out of vehicle with minimal help.
  • Must be capable of giving the driver clear directions to the destination.
  • Must be ready and available for pick up at an accessible location and at the agreed upon time.
  • Must be respectful of the driver’s time and reduce the drivers wait to a minimum.
  • Must abide by instructions from the driver regarding safety and legal requirements’ e.g. masks, hand sanitizer, seat belts.
Transportation is provided by volunteer drivers using their own vehicles.
  • 5 business days notice is required when booking an appointment.
  • Clients are charged a per kilometer fee for the full round trip of the driver, as well as any parking fees.
  • No money is exchanged with the driver, an invoice will be sent by mail or email.
The Shopping Shuttle: Service available for community members of all ages. This is a door-to-door service which operates twice a month and takes passengers to either Chilliwack or Abbotsford to shop.
