The Salvation Army Church offers an emergency food bank at no cost for individuals or families who are struggling financially.
Individuals or families who are struggling financially may visit a maximum of one time per month for a food hamper of non-perishable food and household items. In addition, they are occasionally able to provide gift cards to clients for grocery stores in the Overwaitea Food Group, such as Save-On Foods and Price Smart Foods. Who qualifies? Anyone on income assistance, such as disability, pension, or employment insurance and whose total monthly income does not exceed the following limits:
The food bank runs Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Each client must provide the following upon request:
- Family of 1 – $1,200
- Family of 2 – $1,350
- Family of 3 – $1,500
- Family of 4 – $1,550
- Family of 5 – $1,600
- Family of 6 – $1,700
- Family of 7 – $1,750
- Family of 8 – $1,850
- Family of 9 – $1,900
The food bank runs Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Each client must provide the following upon request:
- Photo Identification
- Identification for each household member or dependent
- Proof of address
- Proof of income
