Adult Learning Services and English as an Additional Language (EAL) Services

Provides free one-to-one and small-group learning for adults, from basic literacy and digital skills to English tutoring, to help learners achieve their educational goals.
Adult Learning Services: Adults aged 19 and over can work with a free volunteer tutor once a week to achieve a learning goal. This goal could include improving basic reading, writing, or math skills, or learning how to use computers, cell phones, or tablets. Most tutoring is one-to-one, but sometimes offer group sessions are offered. Tutors are also available to support learners taking upgrading classes or working towards their Adult Dogwood. Chilliwack Learning Society tutors receive training materials and ongoing support.

English as an Additional Language (EAL) Services: Chilliwack Learning Society offers a few different options for learning English. Everyone is welcome: visitors, temporary workers, international students, permanent residents, and Canadian citizens. English learning opportunities include:
  • One-to-one tutoring with a volunteer
  • Small group classes
  • Evening Conversation Circles at the Sardis Library
  • Online Beginner English Conversation Classes
