Aboriginal Infant Development: Program is a family-centred program that supports the development of Aboriginal children 0-3 years of age within the context of the family, community, and culture by offering access to culturally-appropriate early intervention and prevention support programs. Also provides developmental screening and assessments and offers individualized activity plans that support each child’s healthy development. Workers meet families in their homes. They can also attend meetings and provide training to family members or other childcare workers. All referrals are considered.
The Out of School program: Offers a safe, educational environment for children from kindergarten through age 12. Activities include sports, games, field trips, and other enriching pursuits to complement school learning. The program runs after school from 2:30 pm to 5 pm, with full-day care available on professional development and school closure days, and during summer. Transportation options are available from Kent Elementary and Seabird Island schools. Contact the program for details on schedule, fees, and registration to provide your child with quality care and continued discovery.
A-Pals (Aboriginal Parents as Literacy Support): A seven-session program for families with children 3 to 6 years of age to encourage and support the literacy development of their child’s learning; including language, literacy, and numeracy through cultural and traditional teachings from parents, elders, language teachers, and early childhood educators. Sessions take place at the Millennium Hall from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of each month.
Summer Program: The summer program is for children ages 5-12 and offers a blend of adventure and learning, including field trips, sports, arts, and cultural activities. Nutritious meals are provided. Running Monday-Friday from 9 am-3 pm, with extended care available, the program aims to expand horizons and build skills in a safe, nurturing environment. Registration opens June 1st, with early waitlisting recommended at our April Open House. Contact the program to secure your child's place and learn more about our enriching summer activities.
B.E.A.R. Bus: Offer off-reserve families with children 0-6 years of age as well as expecting parents the ability to access early learning and early intervention programs.
Someone So Small: Offers a drop-in playgroup called Someone So Small every Friday from 10:00-11:30 am at the Millennium Hall. This child and parent participation program emphasizes movement, play, music, language development and relationship building for infants/toddlers and their families.
Speech & Language Program: supports communication development from birth through kindergarten with culturally sensitive care. A Speech Pathologist screens and assesses children with speech or language difficulties, providing direct support services for eligible children. The program nurtures effective communication through interactive activities, boosting children's confidence and literacy. Contact us for concerns about your child's speech or language development.
Daycare: The Daycare Centre is a fully licensed group childcare facility with spaces for 49 children between the ages of 3 months and kindergarten.
The Supported Child Development program: Provides services to Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal children who require extra support due to physical, social, intellectual, emotional and developmental challenges.
