Community Outreach Services - Poverty and Homelessness Concerns

Provided by Ruth & Naomi's Mission (RAN Mission)

Provides an array of services to assist individuals who may be struggling with poverty and homelessness.
The following services are offered:
  • Wearhouse: A clothing distribution centre which provides gently used and clean clothing. Available at no charge.
  • ReVive Safe-Stay Shelter: A 24-hour semi-permanent shelter for 45 individuals often struggling with homelessness, mental health and addiction concerns.
  • Pathways Emergency Shelter: A 20-bed, 24-hour facility operating as an overnight shelter during the night and a warming or cooling centre during the day.
  • Weekday Drop-In: The Drop-In is open from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM Monday through Friday (excluding Stat holidays). Coffee is available for purchase! Coffee is .25 cents with all proceeds going to Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. As well, there is laundry, shower and emergency food hamper services available. Access is also available for guests to a Community Nurse.
  • Food Services: Provides food services for a variety of RAN programs. The RAN Main site has a dining room that can serve up to 150 meals each night for our community dinner. Between the sites, the kitchen produces about 320 meals per day.
  • The Market: Where non-perishable food donations are sorted, stored and distributed to families and individuals in need in our Family Centre and the Community at large.
  • Extreme Weather Shelter: Between November 1 and March 31, RAN Mission opens up 26 shelter beds in partnership with BC Housing when the weather dips to 0 degrees or colder or other extreme weather conditions exist.
