Provides education and support to people living with or at risk of diabetes, and their families.
The Diabetes Education Centre supports adults, children and pregnant women through individual appointments/follow-up, as well as classes and group sessions. A family member or friend is welcome to attend with the patient. Services provided include: diet and lifestyle self-management; medication review/consultation, insulin start/adjustment, blood glucose monitoring training and certification, insulin pump training, continuous glucose monitoring training, carbohydrate counting, and foot care. Pediatric Clinic is located at the Victoria General Hospital, in the Pediatric Ambulatory Services wing. Children (up to their 18th birthday) and their families can access diabetes education and other support through the clinic.

Gestational Diabetes Education Centre is located at the Victoria General Hospital, in the Child and Family Health Unit (CFAU). This program requires a referral from a physician or midwife to access education and nutrition counseling for women with gestational diabetes (GDM) or pregnant women with Type 1 or 2 diabetes.
