Developmental Disabilities Mental Health (DDMH) Program - Northern Health Area

Disability Services, Mental Health - Adult & Senior, Mental Health - Child & Youth, and Youth Services

Provided by Northern Health

Provides assessment, consultation, and short term treatment services to individuals 14 or older who meet the diagnostic criteria for a developmental disability (IQ of 70 or below) and who have a mental illness and/or challenging behaviours.
  • A team of two provides services in the Northern Interior and provides consultation for contracted services
  • North West and North East services are provided through contracted agencies
  • The program provides psychological consultation, assessment, and recommendations
  • The program does not provide case management
  • Limited psychiatry services for youth assessments available
Referrals are accepted through Community Response Units, physicians, and community agencies.
