Provides financial assistance and employment support to women and girls in Chilliwack.
Program includes:
- Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award: A unique education award for women who provide the primary financial support for their families. They provide women with the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. Women enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution who serve as the primary financial provider for their family may qualify for this award. The Soroptimist International of Chilliwack Club offers awards of up to $2,500. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and show they are actively pursuing their educational and career goals while supporting dependents.
- Dream It Be It: Career Support for Girls provides girls with the tools and resources they need to achieve their educational and career goals, empowering them to break cycles of poverty, violence, and abuse. While all girls may encounter barriers due to gender, the program prioritizes support for those facing additional challenges such as poverty, unstable home environments, involvement in foster care, or teen motherhood.
