An adult learning centre for individuals recovering from addiction.
The PKLC is an intuition-free adult learning center at the Phoenix Centre and a key service for participants rebuilding their lives that offers personalized education plans.

This unique community-based, adult learning program delivered by Kwantlen Polytechnic University is an essential component of their integrated services model designed to end the cycle of addiction and homelessness.

The Phoenix-Kwantlen Learning Centre empowers adult learners to re-enter the educational arena and the labour market through individualized assessment and action planning that includes lifelong learning goals. The centre provides community-based instruction from basic literacy level through Grade 11. It also helps adult learners move on to Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s campus or to other formal educational settings.

Services Include:
  • Assessing and upgrading English, Math, and study skills.
  • Assisting with GED or ABE completion.
  • Offering academic upgrading or preparation for further post-secondary programs, apprenticeship or trades training programs.
  • Strengthening participants’ career action plans and applications for funded training programs that improve their employability.
  • Improving literacy and numeracy for jobs or further training.
