Settlement and Integration Services

This program provides settlement and integration services to newcomers and refugees in Langley
Settlement Services provides weekly information and orientation workshops as well as needs assessments and settlement plans.

Orientation services include referrals, providing information on regional and local resources, form assistance, housing, taxation, financial information, transportation and assistance with various government and non-governmental applications.

Provides weekly information workshops sessions on Resumes/Cover Letters/Thank You Letters, Interview Skills and Techniques, Basic Labour Market Information, Labour Laws and BC Human Rights, Employment and Training opportunities and the Legal Education System.

Employment Services:
  • The Employment Program
  • The program is designed for Canadian Citizens (who were not born in Canada), Refugees, Refugees Claimants, Temporary Foreign Workers, Provincial Nominees, International students, and Permanent Residents.
The Employment program provides sessions on:

  • Employment and Training Opportunities
  • The Canadian Education System
  • Skills to Success Program
  • The skills to success program is a 16-week youth employment program designed to assist youth in the labour market in BC.
Skills To Success Offers:
  • A smooth transition to the Canadian labour market
  • Career Exploration based on individual assessments
  • Job search guidance, resume, cover letter, and interview preparation workshop
  • Access to the Hidden Job Market
Canada Connects: Matches volunteers with newcomer clients and/or families. Volunteers are Canadians or immigrants who are settled in the community. Newcomers are supported by volunteers to build connections, learn about community resources, and share each other’s cultures.

Early Learning Program: For refugee/newcomer children aged 0 – 6 and their parent/care providers who have multiple barriers to integration. The program is culturally sensitive and designed to meet the cultural, developmental, parenting and life skills needs of the participants.

Engaging Women: is a social circle for immigrant women to meet friends, build a support network, and learn new skills, such as cooking delicious multicultural recipes. Join our safe space for women to share your stories and find resources available in the community. Some of the topics include Self-Care, Stress & Time Management, Recipes Around the World, and Canadian Workplace Culture.

Senior's Program: Program is designed to empower immigrant seniors and promote community engagement by participation, volunteerism and mentorship.

Youth Program: Program is designed to empower immigrant youth participation and engagement within the community.

Early Learning Program: rogram is designed for refugee/newcomer children aged 0 – 6 and their parent/care providers who have multiple barriers to integration.

Conversation Circles: This service provides six informal conversation circles on a weekly basis that addresses reading, writing and speaking English skills.
