Peer Support Program
Peer support is a process in which trained volunteers offer one-on-one listening and emotional support, guidance, empathy and information to in-need peers living alone. This enables them to help themselves with feelings of loneliness, depression, isolation or loss of loved ones. Most visits are once a week, and one-hour in length, where the volunteer offers a listening ear, provide support to make informed decisions, and acquaint them with additional seniors' services.
Good Morning Program
Good morning calls give interested seniors a telephone check-in on their physical and mental well-being, helping them maintain their independence. Service is ideal for seniors who do not have any local family or support, even on a temporary basis, in addition to seniors recovering from hospitalization, are socially isolated, or are shut-in. 5 minute service calls are available 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Monday - Friday at a mutually agreeable time. If a volunteer caller is unable to reach the senior, an emergency protocol is then followed.
